Flashback Friday

Flashback Friday ~ First Disney Trip with the Little Ladies ~ A trip we will never forget!!
November 2007

Our trip started with a stop at one of our most favorite restaurants...Chevy's!!!  It was quite the eventful dinner with Michaela throwing up right after our special dinner arrived...not the way we planned for our little vacation to start.  I love Sophia's face in this picture!

The next morning we all woke up feeling much better and headed to Downtown Disney...one of our most favorites stops.

We ate at Rainforest Cafe

Daddy and Michaela rode the little train.  She loved it!

Then we took a picture with Michaela's favorite princess...Cinderella.  She had the hugest smile on her little face.  Meanwhile, Sophia is checking out the crowd :)

The next day we headed to Magic Kingdom.  I was nervous at how we would do since Michaela threw up again in the parking lot but we ended up having a very magical day!!

Sophia did not love waiting in line but she did like to be on her Daddy's shoulders.  Then she could people watch.

Michaela was quite the little ham.

I think she spotted a princess!!!

Sophia loves Disney popcorn...go figure.

Their first 3-D show

And finally...a little nap!!!!

How magical

Minnie's House which the girls LOVED!

We ended the night with Mickey Mouse

The rest of the vacation was filled with lots of POOL TIME

Although, it was a rough start it was a wonderful time together as a family.  I am so thankful for the opportunity to spend this time together as a family on our very first foursome vacation.  I'll never forget it!

The Best Laid Plans

So as I mentioned previously my two little ladies are visiting their Aunt Mimi right now.  I was going to have two whole weeks with out little people.  Can you even imagine all you could get done???  Well, I was trying too.  I had made plans, set goals and worked myself up to quite a level of excitement at all I was going to get done.  Well, those were "the best laid plans."  You see two weeks ago today I woke up with a heavy chest which developed into laryngitis.  So this past Sunday I finally headed to the Minute Clinic (between church services of course).  They diagnosed me with a sinus infection, double ear infection and bronchitis.  After four days on my antibiotic I woke up yesterday and was worse.  So after three hours at the Dr today I now have pneumonia...FUN...NOT!!!  I came home with a whole new arson of medication and am hoping tomorrow will be a better day.

I am so thankful for a flexible boss (thanks dad!!)  I am soooo thankful for my sister for keeping my little ladies because I could not have done the mom thing this sick.  I am so grateful for my mom who just keeps the soup coming.  No kidding she makes the best soup.  She has checked on me no less than 20 times today.  SO nice to know she cares and loves me like no other...she is the BEST!! (thanks mom!!).  Finally, I want to thank my dear husband (this is sounding like an award show).  He has been very patient with me in my condition.  He has been a great nurse...thanks babe, I love you.

So, my house it not any cleaner.  My girls rooms have yet to be cleaned out and organized.  I have watched hours upon hours of HGTV.  My dog is literally my best friend right now.  I have successfully read every Field & Stream magazine in the house and I have perfected the only computer game I know how to play... solitaire.  I have decided I need an iPad and if you need to get caught up on anything happening in the world right now...call me.  I have spent lots of time watching and reading the news.

However, on a really positive note.... I really have enjoyed being able to have so much quiet time with my Lord and Savior.  What a blessing to just sit at His feet and worship Him!!  I have listened to wonderful songs and read some great scripture the past few days.  What a wonderful, awesome God we have.

So at the end of this sickness I may will not have gotten all my plans done but I will have been able to accomplish something so much more...growing closer to my Heavenly Father!!!  Sometimes I need to remind myself that I have made plans but HE has the best plan for me!  Love this verse... Jeremiah 29:11  For I know the thoughts (plans) that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  Amen!

Here a little picture from bedtime last night...thanks to my brother-in-love, Dennis for sending it to me...I needed a smile last night and this did the trick!

Sad Goodbye

This morning I said a sad goodbye to my little ladies for two weeks (I was sad, they were higher than kites).  Several years ago my sister asked if the girls could come to her house for a visit during the summer.  That is when the tradition was born.  The girls love every minute at Aunt Mimi's house.  They love to play with Charles and Daniel (Amy's boys) but they LOVE their Auntie Mimi!!!!

What will they do for two weeks you ask???

They probably will go to the big Bass Pro Shop.

Do lots of swimming...Mimi learned quick that lots of swimming = tired babies!!

And they will play, play, play!!!

They will get really dirty and very tired but they will have the best time.  And when they come home they will talk about it constantly.

I am so thankful for my sister and her hubby who open up their home and create some wonderful summer memories for my little ladies.  Thanks Amy, I'll be praying really hard for you for the next two weeks.  Have fun!!

Beach Day ~ June 2008

I have to admit in so many ways this seems like just yesterday but it wasn't.  It actually was four years ago this month.  Time flies crazy fast.

How precious are those little faces!!

Sophia was NOT sure about the sand at the beginning of our day.

Michaela LOVED the sand!!

Sophia decided that she did in fact like the sand.

Too cute!!!

I love my little beach babies.

Go Fish

We have actually been playing that game a lot lately but on Saturday Daddy took them to do the real thing.  I had a ladies activity at church that had me gone for almost the whole day so he loaded them up and they went on a little adventure.

They packed sandwiches and then he took them to the Macedonia Store to pick out chips, a candy bar and a soda.  They thought they hit the jackpot (it's the little things).  Then they headed to the river.

They LOVED it!!

They all caught at least one little fish...success.

They didn't bring home the big one but they did come home with their heart full of BIG memories of a special day with daddy.

Mother Knows Best

So the statement goes "Mother Knows Best."  For 30 years, ok not 30 years exactly, but for a very long time I have enjoyed the occasional cookie dough ball.  There is nothing like...mixing all those ingredients together for a little ball of goodness.  Who doesn't love cookie dough?  I had one friend who froze brownie mix batter!  Surely, I am not alone in this.  I know at least two people...me and my sister.  Well, almost every time my mother witnessed this behavior (my sister and me eating cookie dough) she would say..."your going to get salmonella poisoning if you eat raw eggs."  My mother knows best, it just took me 30 years to know this.

It's Memorial Day evening and Michael was working, the girls were in bed and I was blogging.  I was craving something sweet and remembered I had some frozen chocolate chip cookie dough balls.  I grabbed a ball and enjoyed every bite!  Several hours later I started to feel a little yucky.  By Tuesday morning it was full blown food poisoning.  I thought I was going to die and here I sit on Friday evening and I am just beginning to see the light at the end of this tunnel.  I am sick of applesauce and toast.

I should have listened to my mother.  I am never eating cookie dough again (I really mean it) because...My Mother knows best!!

I love you mom
